Goulash Soup and Cheese Buns in Peru?
5/18/2025 · Thomas
This year marked the third time the European Gastronomy Fair was held in Lima – this time at two venues, and with great interest. Many people queued at the Hungarian stand to sample the flavors of home, and many managed to sneak a little slice of home into the land of the Incas.
The fair wasn't exciting just because of the Hungarian specialties – Italian wines, Belgian waffles, French pastries, Spanish tapas, and even German sausages awaited visitors. Each stand opened a small gateway to Europe – in flavors, aromas, and atmosphere.
The goulash soup was naturally a big favorite for us: hot, spicy, exactly as we're used to at home. The cheese buns also brought many smiles – many tasted them for the first time, but some immediately returned for seconds.
The event wasn't just a culinary adventure, but also a kind of cultural meeting. It was good to see new faces, chat, laugh – and experience that even on the other side of the world, something connects us: the taste of home.
It was a fantastic experience for us to be part of it, and we hope that next year even more people will gather around a bowl of goulash or a fresh cheese bun.
